Athenry Community Council would like to invite your organisation, members and staff, family, neighbours and friends to participate in this year's St. Patrick's Day Digital Event. All members of our community are encouraged to make a short video on this year's theme "Eat, Drink and be Merry!" and submit it to the Athenry St. Patrick's Day Parade Event Facebook page at the link below. You could record a poem reading, dance, song, solo or family bubble march (mini parade). We will have this year's Judges on standby to score submissions and choose the best entrants. Please feel free to post the link (below) to your own Community Group's Facebook page on March 17th. The event page will be live from 12:00pm to 5:30pm.
Winners will be announced at 6:00pm. We will have prizes for our best entries. Thank you very much to our sponsor this year: Athenry Credit Union. Your continued support is greatly appreciated.
As part of the festivities, we are asking everyone to "Decorate your Door!". We're hoping to brighten the place up a bit. It doesn't have to be anything fancy, a sprig of leaves and some spring blossoms, some old green tinsel from the Christmas decorations box out in the shed. Some handmade paper shamrocks and some orange paper streamers... Anything you like to add to the festivities.
Lastly, we would encourage that everyone keep themselves and their families, friends and loved ones safe throughout the festivities. Remember to wash your hands regularly, wear a mask and keep your distance. Stay safe out there and have fun!
