Printing Our Fantastic Animals With Local Artists, John Langan & Maria Moore

The pupils of Senior Infants, 3rd, 4th & 5th class of St Oliver Plunkett N.S. were extremely lucky and very excited to be visited by local artists John Langan and Maria Moore last week.

In our 3rd and 4th classroom, we were given a brief to design and create a print of our very own 'Fantastic Animal'. This animal could be a hybrid, a fantasy animal or take on any form we wished, and he encouraged us to be as imaginative as possible.

John taught us firstly about certain design elements such as line, shape, colour, texture, composition, scale and proportion. He explained the whole printing process to us and then we we set about designing our very own prints.

The end results were truly amazing and we really enjoyed experimenting with different colours and also analysing and comparing our 1st,2nd and 3rd prints.

We spent a really cool couple of days with John & Maria and they definitely inspired us all to try and think outside the box, by asking ourselves the question,
 "What if?"
when designing our next wonderfully imaginative designs!

Thank you John and Maria for a FANTASTIC time.
We are so proud of our interesting animal prints!

Have a look and try to guess what may have inspired each of our
 wonderful creations...

Thanks so much for coming in to us.
We had a really cool time and we are so proud of our prints!
