Ms Giblin taught us that light travels in straight lines, called light rays.
Light travels faster than anything else! It can travel through some materials, but not through others.
Transparent things like glass windows, let light pass through them.
Translucent objects let some light pass through them, but you can't see clearly through these things. Frosted glass in a bathroom is translucent.
Light cannot pass through opaque materials like books, people, blocks, wood etc.
Ms Giblin showed us several objects and we had to predict whether they were transparent, translucent or opaque.
We then shone a torch on these items to see if our predictions were correct, and we documented our findings.
We had great fun experimenting with light, today!
