Here is the plan of work for Week 2 (starting next Monday).
Please label all of your work clearly when completing an activity in your copies – name of activity/ page number/ date.
Blue highlight = there will be a video on Seesaw to watch before you begin your work.
Yellow highlight tells you the work you need to upload to Seesaw and on which day (if possible).

Persuasive Letter Writing Help Sheet
All that is different this week is you must include these 3 things before you begin writing your persuasive text.
1. “Recipient’s Address” – The address of the person you are writing your letter
to. (This goes on the top left of the page)
Example: Mr. Burke,
School Principal,
St. Mary’s Primary School,
Oranmore,
Co. Galway
2.
“Author’s Address” – Your own address. (This goes on the top
right of the page)
Example: Holly Dempsey,
Northgate Street,
Athenry,
Co. Galway
3.
“Greeting” – You need to greet the person you are writing to.
Example: Dear Mr. Burke. My name is Holly Dempsey and I am in 3rd class. I
am writing to you about _______.
Paragraphs
When writing
your letter, organise it into paragraphs so it is easy to read:
Paragraph 1: Introduction (greet the person you are writing to and introduce the
topic)
Paragraph 2: First argument with at least 2 reasons
Paragraph 3: Second argument with at least 2 reasons
Paragraph 4: Final argument with at least 2 reasons
Paragraph 5: A conclusion (your closing statement to repeat what you think) and sign
your name.
Features
· You always write in the present tense (use verbs like; is, are, do, make, believe, think)
· Your persuasive text should include:
- Facts! (Always use facts to give proof to your argument)
- An interesting topic
- Short, simple sentences
- Use words/phrases that are convincing
