Hello 3rd Class!
Once again this week, you have all
worked really hard and posted some wonderful work on Seesaw!
It is hard to believe that we are
heading into our 5th week of online learning! Keep up the fantastic work
throughout next week and then you can look forward to having a relaxing week
off for our Midterm break. I'm sure all the mums and dads who have been doing a
great job helping and encouraging you with your school work will enjoy the
break from remote learning too!
This is my last week teaching you as
Mr. O'Connor will be back after Midterm. Even though I didn't get to meet you
all in the classroom, I have really enjoyed seeing you all on our Zoom calls.
You are such a hard-working, talented and friendly group and I am so impressed
with the work that you have completed at home over the past few weeks!
Below is your plan of work
for Week 5 (starting next Monday).
Please label all your
work clearly when completing an activity in your copies – name of activity/
page number/ date.
Blue
highlight = there will be a video on Seesaw to watch before you begin your
work.
Yellow highlight tells you the work you need to upload to Seesaw and on which day.

1. Design and Make an Amazing Arena!
First, draw a picture and label the different features you would include in the sporting arena. Using LEGO, try to build what you designed.
- What sport is the arena for? Soccer? GAA? Horse-riding arena? Basketball? Tennis? The Olympics?
- What special features does it have?
- How big is the arena? How many spectators will it hold? How big will the playing surface be?
- Will it have a roof or not?
- Could you use any other materials along with your LEGO to build the arena? (Cardboard/ shoebox/ recyclable materials)
2. Try one of these STEM Mini Challenges -
